Patient-reported outcomes collection and reporting
Can patient-centered care begin with data? We think so. Evidence helps you know you’re providing care that’s better today than it was yesterday. And tomorrow can be even better.
Evidence-based orthopaedics is achievable with the right capture-process, from patient reported outcomes to every detail related to an implant to post-op patient-reporting. And, you can use the tools trusted by academic medical centers to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
As you try to keep up with the changing healthcare landscape, stay ahead of regulations, and focus on building a profitable practice without sacrificing patient satisfaction, there is one thing that can be your saving grace: data. Accurate, reliable, mine-able data changes everything and transforms the way you run your business.
If you’ve fully adopted an EMR, you understand it’s essential – yet not as powerful as it could be. Ortech interfaces with EMRs to get data into a form that drives your decisions – and remains accessible to you 24/7.
That’s only part of the reason why we’re getting handshakes and hugs from current clients.
Evidence-based decisions
Gathering data will help you see what you’re doing well. It doesn’t matter what size your organization or practice is.
You can now have the tools academic centers have that allow you to look at things like how your length of stay vs. approach have led to better patient outcomes. Identify the implants that last longest. Does a specific implant see better patient-reported outcomes? What’s at the root of an increase in readmissions? Why are transfusion or revision rates higher this quarter?
Health systems benchmark to improve, surgeons work effectively, patients have better outcomes.
You are no longer working blindly.
Secure and Compliant Data
The data you get out is only as good as the data you put in. Ortech’s guidance and support will ensure you are collecting the right data, so you are able to extract reports that help you achieve your specific goals. There is no cookie cutter solution and our combined experience in orthopaedics and IT is just what you need to put together a program that makes sense for your organization.
Things like consistency matter if you want to measure and get meaningful results. You might have certain goals today, but as you collect and analyze data, you may set new goals. Consistent historical data you can trust allows you to make better decisions.
The journey to evidence-based ortho is calling. And the sooner you start, the sooner you will have what you need.
Extensive Implant Library
The implant library was Ortech’s focus from the start. When founders Jeff Guerin and Sean Volkeart first began working with orthopaedic surgeons in research in 2000, they had started to compile an excel database of all devices with more granular information than just the catalog and lot numbers.
Today, Ortech’s implant library is the largest and most detailed available, with 70,000 product codes.
You can capture all data points associated with the device with a single scan. Whether it’s an implant rep or circulating nurse, one bar code and one scan is all it takes. Patients with recalled devices can be identified in just a day. It’s a huge step forward in patient safety.
Support and guidance
We translate what you want to achieve into a system that will capture every detail of your work – from implant to surgeon to patient to outcome – and allow you to pull the data you need to answer any question.
Our background in orthopaedics combined with academic data and IT means we understand your perspective. We start with a foundation based around what you want to collect. Then, we make recommendations based on what kind of data insurers and CMS require today, and will require in the future.
We are driving the data-fueled future of orthopaedics – starting with clients who are ready to begin the journey of becoming evidence-based.
